USB Necktie

USB Necktie

Remember those neck fans and ice packs that wrapped around your neck to keep you cool? The theory is this: cool your neck and you can cool your whole body.

Well you might want to purchase this tie if you want to cool yourself down and do it in style. The tie pulls down to reveal a fan. The fan is charged via USB found in the skinny part of the tie (which finally gives the skinny part a full use). Hence, you can plug the fan in to charge up, but when you are on the go, the fan still keeps you cool!

Best part is you don’t need to figure out a Windsor knot. This is not like the conventional clip-on tie. An elastic band around the neck, with a latch keeps people from ripping the tie off your body.

You can find the USB Cooler Necktie at Thanko. It’s only 2980 Yen (about $35 dollars). It’s in it’s 3rd generation with this tie. No mention if this comes in other colors than the burgundy red displayed in the picture.

So Apple will put together a special press event on Friday. Most people are speculating it will cover the iPhone4 antenna issue for people holding the phone in their left hand. Some say it will be a $1.5 billion recall. However, I think they will go a different route. I’ll go old school to fix my bad cell antenna issues.

This device can be applied to the back of the phone and increase the cell reception. It’s not going to fall off like any rubber bumper. Best part is it only cost $4 to apply.

Let’s go retro and get increase our signal strength, too!

Orville Redenbacher

Orville Redenbacher

Although Orville had passed away in 1995, we still enjoy his popcorn. Therefore, we give a shout out to the family and wish Orville Redenbacher a happy BIRF! He would have been 103.

Most of us grew up seeing him on many commercials. Always with a bowl of popcorn.

So grab yourself a bag and celebrate with me Orville Redenbacher and his 103rd birthday!

This is what happens at the Bellagio in Las Vegas every 15 minutes. They put on a great water show. It’s only 5 minutes long, but a lot of fun. Best part is the water vapor in the air instantly cools down the 90+ degree weather. Here is a taste…

Alien Abduction Lamp

Alien Abduction Lamp

Well, kids. We’ve all heard the stories. TV shows like the 4400 and movies like Independence Day talk about it. Now you can get abducted by aliens in the comfort of your own home. It’s the Alien Abduction Lamp!

This desk lamp is molded like a saucer-style spaceship and it’s beaming a cow from the ground. The best part is it’s energy efficient. Using LED technology, the beam will light up, the cockpit of the spaceship will glow either green or yellow and there are even glow-in-the-dark aliens in the cockpit.

Cows Get Abducted

Cows Get Abducted

The cow is apparently removable from the lamp. You could get creative that way, I suppose. Put a Star Wars figure in there, maybe a picture of a friend or family member.

The lamp is made by Tiger Global Limited and can be found at Abductionlamp.com. The website itself is pretty cool, for if you grab the ole red-blue 3D glasses, you can enable the 3D page and see the images pop out at you.

Right now it looks like the lamp is only available in the UK, Germany or Australia. But I would guess the invasion will happen in the US pretty shortly. So get ready to run.

Price is £63.97 – about $94.502881 US.

geocities-izer

geocities-izer

Dancing Babies, webcounters and bad color schemes. That was Geocities. Now that it’s gone, we can only remember the horrible designed, left for dead websites. Or do we have another option?

Wonder-Tonic has created the Geocities-izer – a website that will turn your favorite website into a Geocities – looking page. Complete with all those bad .gif files like spinning floppies and Bill Gates – turn to Devil.

Although Dorkazine doesn’t look that annoying, you should see what sister-site Geekazine looks like. Talk about a Packer fan’s dream – Green and Yellow with dancing babies…

The website also has quick links to sites like New York Times, Boing Boing and YouTube. Check it out with your own favorite website or just keep looking up Dorkazine. I wonder what Sportazine would look like…

In 2005, the BBC relaunched it’s time-honored series ‘Doctor Who’ in grand style. Christopher Eccleston took the role of the ninth Doctor, and Billie Piper gave all the fans a cheer as Rose Tyler, becoming one of the most iconic companions ever!

The new series first year also brought us a new look to the TARDIS, and some amazing stories!

Then, much to the audience’s surprise, Eccleston was replaced in the next season by David Tennant.

Tennant Very quickly, however, Tennant became one of the most enduring actors to fill the Timelord’s shoes. The second season now had the perfect mix of Doctor and companion.

Alas, Billie Piper departed at the end, and for the next two seasons, the Doctor traveled with 2 other companions, Martha Jones and Donna Noble, both good in their own way, but none with the spark of Rose.

Finally, the Doctor traveled alone, and began to lose his way….

In 2009 two things happened. David Tennant decided to give up the role of the Doctor, and the production crew of Doctor Who decided to turn over the reigns to a new staff.

This became the springboard to series 5, with Matt Smith taking over as the youngest actor to portray the Doctor, Karen Gillan creating the role of Amy Pond, and a new TARDIS!

Lunched on Easter weekend, the first episode ‘The Eleventh Hour’ also debuted a new title theme. The Doctor, newly regenerated, is thrust into chaos, as the TARDIS is falling apart, and hurdling toward London. Still in his infancy, he tries to help a little girl with a monstrous problem in her bedroom. As he figures out who he is, and the TARDIS heals itself, the Doctor saves humanity again for the millionth time, thank you very much!

From the first episode it is apparent that the series has, indeed regenerated. The TARDIS, and the Doctor, have a younger yet more wizened feel to them. Amy could very well be the next great companion.

Either way, it’s going to be one wild ride with a madman in a box!

Muppet Bunny Foo Foo

Muppet Bunny Foo Foo

Well I thought that this age of Political Correctness would not warrant a video like this. Yet this Muppet video reminds me of the old thinking of cartoons. The one where you would blow up someone and everyone would laugh.

In this case, think “Little Bunny Foo Foo“. The line used to go:

Little Bunny Foo Foo hopping through the forrest – Picking up the field mice and BOP them on the head.

The line got changed (for P.C.) to:

Little Bunny Foo Foo hopping through the forrest – Picking up the field mice and KISS them on the head

Of course, let’s not talk about the irony that the Fairy Godmother comes from the sky to scold Little Bunny Foo Foo for Kissing field mice. The line just doesn’t work. Further, it is too extreme.

So back to the Muppets. If you prefer the Political Correct version of Little Bunny Foo Foo, then you might not want to watch this video. For the rest of us, I have a feeling this Muppet Video will become viral fast…

It’s a remake of the classic “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King. The YouTube Video can be found here

I was in the Denver Airport overnight. Missed a connecting flight because of “Weather issues”. There was more to it than that. Still, I took the opportunity to document the evening in this video short. The full description of what happened can be found on Geekazine.
